About the Role:
The Head of Marketing role will be a key driver of revenue growth through engaging event attendees, increasing participation, and expanding new product offerings by cultivating a community of brand loyalists. Success in this role looks like someone who can seamlessly move back and forth between high-level marketing strategies and execution of tactics across platforms varying in both short and long-form content.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for entrepreneurship with experience growing a business through a small marketing team (or team of one) within a startup or start-up like environment. This person needs to be innovative and enjoy pushing creative boundaries while delicately balancing brand identity. Strong copywriting and content creation skills are a must.

The Goal:Contribute to the strategic growth of Scratchmade by amplifying their current events (Main Street Summit and Capital Camp) and cultivating new opportunities for expansion, resulting in doubled revenue in 2 years.

What You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Crafting and implementing marketing strategies that drive revenue

  • Owning brand positioning that resonates with their specific audience

  • Launching new initiatives with strategic go-to-market plans

  • Creating content that cuts through the noise, particularly strong written communication skills

  • Managing digital presence across platforms, particularly LinkedIn and X

  • Building and executing email campaigns that readers engage with

  • Making data-backed decisions to prioritize marketing efforts

  • Overseeing contractors for outsourced projects

  • Managing vendor relationships and communications externally

Hard Skills:

  • Marketing Strategy & Brand Management: Not just theory - you've actually built and implemented strategies that moved the needle

  • Expert Copywriting & Content Creation: You can write copy that people want to read and that drives action across multiple channels

  • Social Media & Email Marketing Proficiency: You know how to build campaigns that actually convert on LinkedIn, X, and email

  • Website & Graphic Design Project Management: You can effectively manage creative teams and projects with contractors

  • Data Analysis: You're comfortable making sense of Google Analytics and turning those insights into action

  • CRM Experience: Preferably experience with HubSpot or platform beyond just basic contact management

  • Brand Identity Implementation: You understand how to translate brand values into compelling storytelling that resonates

  • Customer-Facing Outreach: Real experience connecting with customers through social media, emails, and in-person events

  • Project Management: You've managed complex projects at a small agency, startup, or as a freelancer when resources were tight

  • Visual Content & Storytelling: You know how to communicate complex ideas through visual mediums

  • Community Engagement: You've built or nurtured communities around brands or initiatives

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to generate fresh ideas and have a strong opinion about content strategy while remaining open to new ideas and quick pivots

  • Self-starter mentality with ability to work in ambiguous situations without extensive oversight

  • Ability to identify challenges and implement practical solutions
